More than 3,300 traffic violations were clocked in the past 48 hours, the majority for speeding, police said on Sunday.The majority of the complaints concerned offences which have been proven to be the main causes of serious and deadly traffic accidents, such as speeding, for which 2,792 drivers were booked, police said.During checks, 40 people were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, while another 10 drivers were found to be positive in preliminary  stanley cups uk drug tests, 24 persons were booked for not wearing a seat belt, while 51 persons were booked for using a mobile phone while driving.There were also 28 bookings related to ignoring traffic lights and 29 for illegal parking.
