KYMA, KECY - Locals got a chance to start their day over a cup of coffee with our local officers on Wednesday.The Yuma Police Department hosted its Coffee with a Cop event at the Sunkissed Coffeehouse in Yuma. YPD says the event provides an opportunity for the c stanley cup ommunity to ask one-on-one questions and learn more about the departments work in our neighborhoods.They say contact with law enforcement usually happens during emergencies and emotional situations, but this event can break down those barriers and build healthier relationships. It allows us to connect with the people we serve. It keeps us in touch with the community and what their needs are and what their concerns are. The bottom line is we serve the community. These wi stanley cup ns are showing it possible for determined groups of workers to break through powerful employers ; use of union-busting tactics, ranging from alleged retaliatory firin stanley spain gs to alleged surveillance and forced attendance at anti-union captive audience meetings. But workers should not have to confront so many obstacles to exercising a guaranteed legal right to unionize and bargain for improvements in their work lives and livelihoods. There are good reasons to believe workers ; organizing momentum will continue union election filings are already up 57% during the first six months of this fiscal year . Frontline workers are asserting their worth after more than two years of risking their health during an ongoing pandemic while watching corporate profits and CEO pay continue to soar.
