The incident happened around 2:30 a.m., near Grain Valley about 20 miles from Kansas City.According to authorities, the plane ran out of fuel en route from Florida to the Charles B. Wheeler downtown airport.The plane struck a guardrail but didn t hit any vehicles on the highway. Authorities say the pilot was arrested and faces multiple charges, including DWI, felony possession of a firearm and felony possession of a controlled substance.
